The global demand for nursing has been skyrocketing over the past 2 years especially after the Covid-19 pandemic. Many registered nurses have decided to take a sabbatical (a few years off) to recover from the intense service period. Hence there are gaps in the global workforce, especially in countries that heavily rely on foreign nursing staff that now face a severe shortage due to the return of nurses back to their home countries. Such countries include the Middle East Nations, Europe and Australia.
